Want to try a taste of flying trapeze? Sign up for a single swing!
During class, you'll start on the ground with an introductory talk from one of your instructors. Once you've gone over the basics, you’ll climb up the ladder and take flight!
Spots available in advance and day of.
Pre-requisites:
Hang from a bar for ~10 seconds.
Wear a safety belt that will be tight around your waist.
Climb 23' ladder to the platform (with a backup safety line attached to your safety belt).
Listen to verbal instructions or contact polly@hupstatecircus.org for access support by Aug 30, 2026.
Be comfortable with physical touch (explained to you before hand) for cuing, and entrances and exits from the trapeze platform.

Parking and Route from parking to workshop Space:
Once you turn on to Nelson Road, the primary parking areas are located on the left (Ithaca Waldorf School lot) and right (mowed field). To get to the workshop area from the main parking area is a 3 minute walk on a gravel driveway, followed by a set of stairs. Designated accessible parking spots and drop off area with no stairs are closer to the workshop site, and drivers will be directed to the appropriate area by Hupstate Circus Festival staff members. Please note: this alternative access path will require driving over mowed grass and rolling over tightly packed earth in a farm setting.
